Kim + Kene’s love story is one of risk-taking & faith. Both having roots in Nigeria, she grew up in Minnesota and he was raised in Nigeria. He was a mutual friend of her cousin’s, and Kim was the first one to make a move online. Kim recalls, “From the first day we started talking we never stopped.” Kene moved from Nigeria to Finland for work, so a year after they began talking Kim decided to fly all the way there to meet him in person for the first time! I love this woman’s boldness. She then started working as a traveling nurse in California. After a few more visits, Kene flew to CA to propose to her! I just love that their love had no borders! Love transcends geography & culture. Kim & Kene chose to get married in MN where lots of family members live. And she loves old, ornate architecture so the Landmark Center was her dream venue to get married in. When Kim and I first chatted over the phone, her story struck such a chord in my heart because of my long distance love story with Didier!
