I met Chandler and Grant back in November when I had the privilege of capturing their engagement photos. The first thing I noticed is that their chemistry was on FIRE. These two wild spirits met at Mayo Clinic as they were both working as phlebotomists. They fell in love quickly and it was the type of love that has no conditions. Chandler has had a string of health conditions for years now, and Grant has been her #1 support and truest best friend throughout her journey. I watched as they played together, and celebrated each other. We had a blast creating artwork together, so we snuck in another photo session in February. Their plan was to get married on June 12th, 2020, but then COVID-19 hit and shattered their plans, as it did to countless brides and grooms around the world. But this couple showed resiliency like they have in so many other life situations, and they modified their wedding vision. It was moved to the following day, at a local park, with just their parents and a judge in attendance. Many loved ones could not attend due to travel restrictions, so they recorded the ceremony for them to watch later. The importance of documenting our lives has increased since the pandemic, and I am so honored to be able to give people a glimpse into what this wedding day was like! And let me just say… the JOY of their hearts on this day outshone all of the grieving leading up to it! COVID weddings show off the strength and adaptability of the couple, and truly focus on what’s at the core under all the wedding ‘fluff’ – the covenant love between two humans. It was glorious to be a part of this celebration with Chandler and Grant! Don’t they look stunning?!
